What's On
Our next show will be:
The Princess and The Pea
by Duncan Shepherd
The Worthy Players’ pantomime this December is The Princess and The Pea, inspired by the traditional story retold by the master of fairytales, Hans Christian Andersen. In its original version, it would barely fill this page, but has been adapted by author Duncan Shepherd into a new, full-length traditional-style panto, full of laughs, songs, hisses and cheers, suitable for audiences of all ages.
Here, as in the original well-loved tale, we have a prince for whom a princess wife is sought, but are he and the various candidates for this royal match quite suitable for each other?
Find out in December when we introduce members of the Kings and Queen’s court, the Jester, the Prince’s Nanny, an ample supply of would-be princesses, the ‘Enchanted Oak Tree’ and a large cast of supporting characters – all demonstrating just what the Worthy Players have been good at for more than 50 years – entertaining!
The Princess and The Pea will be on stage at the Jubilee Hall in Kings Worthy on Fridays and Saturdays, December 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th. See details when tickets go on sale in October.
